Youth MP for St. Peter in the National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda, Mrs. Chaneil Imhoff has launched the first annual St. Peter Christmas Card Competition. The Competition is open to students enrolled in the three schools in the St. Peter Constituency – Parham Primary School, Pares Primary School (7-12 years old) and the Pares Secondary School (12-18 years old). Official Entry forms will be available at the schools and from the MP’s website (www.chaneilimhoff.com) from Friday 9th October 2020.

The Youth MP states that “The Constituency of St. Peter is a dynamic and diverse constituency. The aim of this competition is to encourage students to research their communities and channel that research into a creative outlet.”

The competition will aim to:

  • Promote the rich and diverse history of St. Peter
  • Promote the cause of the National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda
  • Promote creativity and learning through the arts

Contest Rules

  • Students must create a Christmas Card that depicts at least one area of interest in the St. Peter Constituency.
  • Cards must be the ORIGINAL artwork of the individual child. Groupwork is not permitted.
  • Posters must be submitted on the 8.5 x 11 Official Entry Form that will be provided.
  • Official Entry Forms will be made available to the Schools and the Contest Sponsors
  • Students must use pencils, pens, paint, crayons, or any other materials readily available in school for their design.
  • Entry Forms must be submitted to the School’s Art Teacher or designated contact person to be taken to the Antigua and Barbuda Science and Innovation Park by December 4th, 2020 at 4 pm for judging. Forms submitted after this date will not be accepted.
  • Winners will be announced on Friday 18th December 2020.

  • Miss Careena Eastwood – Fashion Designer and Artist
  • Mr. Kallan Greene – Artist

Prizes

  • 1st Place – $500 Cash, Art Supplies Basket, and a Plaque
  • 2nd Place – $300 Cash, Art Supplies Basket, and a Plaque
  • 3rd Place – $150 Cash, Art Supplies Basket, and a Plaque
